Pick the right UPS for your load
Three UPS topologies dominate the market and the difference between them is the dominant cost-versus-protection trade-off in any backup power design. Online double-conversion runs the load from the inverter continuously — the rectifier feeds the DC bus, the inverter feeds the load, and the battery floats on the bus. The grid is electrically decoupled from the equipment, so there is no transfer time and no exposure to transients, brownouts or frequency drift. Line-interactive adds an autotransformer to correct voltage swings without going to battery, with millisecond-scale transfer on full outage. Offline (standby) is the cheapest — the load runs from grid until threshold, then transfers in roughly 4–10 ms.
For mission-critical loads — servers, switches, medical equipment, industrial control, telecom — online is the only topology that should be considered. The featured Euronet UPS-ON-10KVA is an online double-conversion unit with pure sine wave output, hot-swap battery modules, SNMP and Modbus TCP management, and −20°C to +55°C operating range. The full Euronet UPS catalogue scales from 1 kVA to 40 kVA across all three topologies; pricing and lead times are available on request from the Dubai regional hub, with same-week dispatch to MEA and South Asia.
Online (Double-Conversion)
AC is rectified to DC, then re-inverted back to AC continuously — the load runs from the inverter at all times. Zero transfer time, complete isolation from grid faults, and clean pure sine wave output regardless of input quality.
Best for
Data centres, hospitals, telecom, industrial control
Line-Interactive
Load runs from filtered grid power; built-in autotransformer corrects voltage sags and surges without going to battery. Battery only engages on full outage. Higher efficiency than online, transfer time of a few milliseconds.
Best for
Office IT, mid-size servers, point-of-sale
Offline (Standby)
Cheapest topology. Load runs from grid until voltage drops below threshold, then transfers to battery in 4–10 milliseconds. Adequate for resilient SMPS-fed devices but not for sensitive electronics or motor loads.
Best for
Workstations, home office, small POS terminals
MEA Grid-Hardened
±40% input voltage tolerance, 55°C ambient operation, dust-tolerant filtration and SNMP v3 + Modbus TCP for DCIM integration — specified for the unstable grids and extreme environments of the Middle East and Africa.
Best for
Any deployment in MEA, South Asia and tropical climates
UPS-ON-10KVA — Enterprise Online
The flagship online double-conversion UPS in our regional stock. Designed for data-centre racks, hospital theatres and industrial control panels where any transfer to battery during a sag or transient is unacceptable. Ships from the Dubai hub with same-week dispatch across MEA.
